Aberrant: 200X - Cleveland fly-in and bake-off!

Hey everyone! Sorry about the last-minute cancellation of the event on Saturday. The weather was really poopy-- not a good day to be at the park at all, even if you're not affected by extremes of temperature.

I mean, if someone leaves a cake out in the rain, do you want to eat it? Eew.

So, weather permitting, let's plan on this Saturday, at 1:00pm local time, in Cleveland, Ohio, USA. I'll go use Google Earth to post up the precise coordinates of the park so that all you flyers can navigate your way in, and warpers and teleporters can pop in, and. . . and those of you who do neither have driving directions. wink

Awesome? Awesome.

I'll try and be there as well. I'd love to meet any or all of you and put some faces and voices behind all those posts. I will probably only be able to stop in for a short time before I'll need to leave again, but I promise to bring something yummy!

What are you planning on bringing? Just so I don't pickt he same thing.

Uh... where will it be again?

Oh, Cleveland. Glad I got my passport in order, then! Although I can't fly all the way there myself, I can take a plane to the airport then fly over to the locale. Unless someone is willing to offer a teleport or doesn't mind a passenger. (I know... longshot on the passenger thing...)

You seem inordinately fond of referring to me as cryptic, love. Do you know who I am? That is, I'm not such a bloody egotist that I expect you know all about me, but it always seems a bit queer to me when my reputation doesn't precede me. A lot of people avoid my company simply by virtue of reputation.

Things break when they're around me. Not just complex things, but also personal items, clothing, bones, q powers... I'm not fun at a party.

Could have been worse, Bill. At least my sex tape didn't leak. That would have brought down two careers and toppled a multi-million dollar marketing strategy as well as bottomed out Utopia's support from a demo that makes about about 35% of their base.

And really, I think Utopia does a marvelous job of embarrassing themselves, for the most part.

That Henry Jones Yeager, formerly of T2M Auxiliary, 2000-2003, actually. But yes. 'Cain' is both a professional moniker and the name of my investigative agency, which I adopted only recently.

Back when I was a baseline, I briefly worked for an ex-cop who started a security firm. His nick-name - and the name of his agency - was "Gator-Dog", and he's the bloke who gave me the idea. Though to be honest, I think I like my name better.

Hey guys, I should be out of the hospital by the weekend so I will be there. At the rate I'm healing I should be nearly as good as new by then anyway. In case you haven't hear I got into a little tussle with three gang members who hit me from behind with a baseball bat to the head and then worked me over while I was out.

Okay we're still on for 1:00 p.m. local time (that's GMT-4 in world-time-speak), which is about 13 hours from right now. The forecast is for a balmy 70 degrees with some sun and some clouds and a chance for some rain-- typical Springtime in Cleveland, really. Remember, this is a fly-in and bake-off, but you don't have to do both. If you can fly but not bake, that's okay. If you can bake but you can't fly, that's good too. If you can't do either. . . buy a pie or something and bring it with you. =D

Here's an overhead view of the park. It's on the shore of Lake Erie, right by downtown Cleveland and all the tall buildings, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the stadium where the Browns play, and lots more to explore.

Here's the same park, zoomed out a little more:
