Aberrant: StarGate Atlantis - [MSB] Asset Assessment (open to all)

For Ayato, The time since the last mission had been spent getting used to his "Enhancements." He was much faster than he'd ever been before. beyond that his physical strength was so much greater. Dr. Goro sat there watching him as he went through his exercises, mostly writing on a small notebook, his observations.

,,

"That last lift was over a metric Ton Ayato." "I can still do more, Doctor. I just don't see more weight."

,,

Dr. Goro nodded. "Perhaps there may be another way within the systems, i will make some inquiries for you."

,,

"Thank you. Have you assessed any of the others?"

,,

"No, Captain, I have not. You are the first, though I left an open invitation to any others who may wish to quantify the effects of the enhancements. No one has yet replied."

,,

Ayato nodded, and he seemed to shimmer, then vanish altogether. "That makes you more like a Ninja than you think."

,,

Ayato appeared a dozen feet away, with not a single sound. "Special Operations Training helps there too."

,,

"Do you have any further exercises you wish to see here, or shall we move on?"

,,

"Run through your high speed Kata one more time, and we can move to the range."

,,

Ayato nodded, and began moving at a speed very few could keep up with, his movements perfectly precise, yet moving as water, smoothly.

The door to the room opened; Captain Bates paused when he saw that Dr. Goro wasn’t alone. “Do you need us to come back at a better time, Doctor?”

“No, no. Not at all.” Dr. Goro grinned widely and waved him further into the room. ‘Him’ became ‘them’ when Inoae appeared to be trailing him, her head typically lowered. “How can I help you?”

“Amara and I were training. We’ve been at it all day and aren’t tired. It’s another sign of… our changes.” Bates dropped a bag of equipment on the floor.

“Well, from what I have heard as rumors, that’s not unusual.” Goro sat them down and took their vitals while keeping an eye on Ayato’s kata.

When the Asian man was done, he found that he had an audience beyond Goro. Captain Bates was watching him, too, his dark eyes staring and assessing Ayato. “How long have you been doing that, soldier? The martial arts, I mean.”

Ayato moved to attention, despite being the same rank as Captain Bates, The man had a certain aura that commanded respect. He came to an easy stance in the blink of an eye. "I've been studying the Martial Arts nearly all my life. My father saw it as a way to instill discipline. After Jiujitsu, I was allowed to learn other styles, Akido being another favorite of mine."

,,

He shrugged. "I still study kenjutsu, but I find my time limited, and the use of more than my knife is generally not necessary."

,,

"And You, Captain Bates, have you studied any Martial arts?" In all his time, Ayato had largely kept to himself. There was no home anymore, just here, and he preferred it that way.

  • 2 weeks later...

That moment the doors slid open and the lovely Evana walked furiously into the room. Her heels clacked swiftly on the hard floor as she bee lined it towards the poor doctor. Today it was just her boots and her pants that were leather. The black of her cotton blouse seemed to match the counter parts nicely, not that it mattered much, Evan would look good in a torn up wool sack. She leaned over the counter and looked at the doctor, holding up her arms which were a numbing blue in color and sheathed in rime. They gave off a fine mist that contrasted with the warm air.

,,

"And here when people called you an Ice Queen we assumed they were joking..." Bates mused. Still leaning over the counter, the Captain swayed her leather clad, glossy black posterior in his direction signaling with her expression that he could kiss her ass whenever he was ready.

,,

"What the hell is this?" She demanded to know from the doctor. She tapped her arm on the workstation and rime fell off all over the surface only to instantly reform by freezing the water in the air around her. "What is it and how do I get it the hell off my arms..."

,,

"Remarkable," Dr. Goro said calmly, adjusting his glasses. "It would appear your entire physiology is..."

,,

"I don't care about the science!" Evana cut him off, obviously irritated that gifts had landed directly on her arms. "Just remove it!"

,,

"The arms?" Goro inquired calmly.

,,

Evana's eye widened and she looked at the Doctor. "What?!? No! Not the arms.... UGH!"

,,

Exasperated, her head fell to the worktable with a 'thunk' and Dr. Goro and Bates shared an amused smirk with one another at Evana's expense.

“I have not studied anything formally.” Bates didn’t sound embarrassed or apologetic. If you could get the job done, schooling was unnecessary. “I just know how to kick some ass, when my gun’s not handy. I’m not a big fan of being a knife to a gun fight, so to speak. I’d rather have a gun at a knife fight.”

,,

Before Ayato could respond, Evana marched into the room with her dramatic arms. After her head hit the worktable, Bates suggested, “Have you tried a hair dryer?”

,,

“Have I—?” Evana swung to face Bates. “A hair dryer? Really?

,,

“Warm air does melt ice—”

,,

“Captain Evana.” Dr. Goro’s voice cut through the banter and silenced all of the speakers. “Most of the changes we’ve seen have been voluntary. Those that aren’t have been manifest since the changes started. So this is something that you have control over, and you just need to gain control over yourself. I recommend some relaxation breathing exercises.”

"Unhand me. I do not need to see or speak with Dr. Goro, I just need a moment alone. I have an appointment in ten minutes, and if you don't unhand me this instant--"

,,

Her eyes were like icy needles piercing through the lieutenant's skull, so he tried not to look at her as he half-escorted, half-dragged the recalcitrant Dr. Fitzgerald down the hallway.

,,

"I'm sorry, doctor, but it's Dr. Weir's orders."

,,

"Then I will speak with Dr. Weir and explain to her that everything is FINE."

,,

"You already did that ma'am, but she insisted. I'm afraid you have to be examined by Dr. Goro."

,,

"At least let go of my arm, you irritating little--"

,,

She cut off abruptly as they entered the room, and found five sets of eyes staring at her. She glared daggers at each of them who dared to stare, with the exception of Inoae, but it was the Lietenant who spoke up.

,,

"Dr. Weir asked me to escort her here, Dr. Goro. Said she should be checked out.. she fainted in the cafeteria."

,,

"I did not FAINT!!"

,,

Moira's voice had gone up at least two octaves, and if were possible for the lieutenant to have withered under her glare, he would have by now. Instead, he edged away from her, back towards the door, his duty done.

,,

"Passed out then. Anyway, you're here, so.. yeah. Have fun."

,,

And then he did flee, admittedly at as brisk a walk as possible without breaking into a run. Moira had wanted him to be afraid of her, to feel her fury and resentment, and by god he had. He was just too well-trained to show it, at least until he rounded the corner and leaned against the wall, wiping the sweat off his brow.

,,

"Dr. Goro, my apologies for the interruption. You're obviously busy. I, too, have an appointment, so if you'll excuse me..."

,,

And with that, she turned to leave.

"So, I heard that Evana has become a tartsicle and you decided to faint - sorry, take an emergency power-nap - in the cafeteria?" The tones were familiar, as was the cool disdain as Bannon stepped into the room with his usual straight-backed grace. Those present stared at him, which elicited an intake of breath over his teeth and a sardonic roll of his glittering green eyes. "Yes, yes. Get it over with." he said in his slightly lighter-than-usual tenor.

,,

"Wow, Doctor." Bates managed, trying not to smile. "You look-"

,,

"Pretty." Evana didn't bother trying not to smirk. The biologist ignored both of them and stepped over to Doctor Goro's desk. The admittedly handsome man had become somewhat... refined of feature, the others noticed. His lips were a little fuller, his hair a little sleeker. In fact, and there was no getting around it, with a little lipstick and eyeshadow Jason Bannon would probably be a knockout. Five pairs of eyes evaluated the body under the linen suit, but the lines of his form were unchanged. It was simply a matter of facial features, and the hint of roughness denoting where he had previously needed to shave was gone, too.

,,

"My report on my condition, all findings so far." he said to Goro, handing a file to the medical doctor. "In addition to the cosmetic changes, I appear to be running a higher-than-normal temperature, possibly the result of an accelerated metabolic rate. Enhancement-wise, I have noticed that my thoughts have a speed and clarity that makes me wince at how slow I used to be. Whilst having breakfast in my lab,I have already come up with several new compounds which, after proper testing, should be very helpful to you in your duties, Doctor."

,,

"You know, with some lipstick and eyeshadow you-" Evana began, but Bannon simply continued as though he hadn't hear her.

,,

"Additionally, I seem to be able to affect biological organisms. So far I have not tested this beyond sensing the general health of those I passed on the way here. Though I'm tempted to see whether I could induce muteness by stifling the speech centers of the Captain's brain." He paused significantly.

,,

"Though this would, sadly, leave most of her brain inoperable."

Inoae's blond tresses popped up from behind Captain Bates and she glanced uneasily around the room. Her eyes settled on Bannon for a moment, but the usual creepy intensity that she focused on the doctor was lacking, nor did she seem to have any response to his sudden prettiness. She did frown at his comment about a female in the hive, but she didn't know what to say.

,,

She pulled back a little more behind the Captain, but ventured, "Doctor Fitzgerald? I am here, not at your office. Should we have our appointment here?"

Link to comment

"Of course. Let us by all means have the appointment here." Bannon's voice was suspiciously affable, and no-one, not even Inoae, was fooled for a second. "Doctor Fitzgerald can take a comfortable position on the floor and majestically snooze through your session." The white-haired man pursed his full lips and snapped his fingers. "Oh, I can detect a hint of a flaw with that plan, but I'm damned if I can put my finger on it." The affable manner fell away like melting snow from a branch as he turned back to Doctor Goro.

,,

"I can see you're going to have your hands full with the circus here, Doctor. How about I pencil myself in for a later review?" With that, the biochemist made his way to the door, only to stop at the sight of the unmoving form of Bates in his way.

,,

"We're all to be reviewed now. Doctor Weir's orders." Bates told Bannon with a weary look that said he was bracing for a verbal shitstorm. "There's been some minor incidents and command staff are worried that those of us affected might be suffering side-effects. So you, Doctor, and you Doctor..." he addressed Moira "... aren't going anywhere until Doctor Goro has cleared it."

,,

"Are we being quarantined?" Bannon blinked his disturbingly (to Bates at least) feminine eyes in astonishment.

,,

"If that's what you want to call it. I call it 'keeping you all here until the doc can do his job'."

,,

"You..." Bannon began, then paused, counted visibly to five, and then spun on his heel and addressed Goro again. "Doctor Goro, I would like to tender my assistance."

,,

"What?" Goro looked askance.

,,

"I am fully qualified to perform medical examinations." Bannon asserted. "And my abilities make me more so. Let me help, for god's sake, so we can all get on with our day."

Moira drew in a slow, irritated breath at Bates' command, and braced for the emotional impact of an argument. But Bates was only feeling a mild annoyance so far, and Bannon's cynical irritation and desire for efficiency was actually close enough to her own normal state of emotional expression that she was able to stabilize herself a bit, and feel more at ease. She felt an odd sense of relief and gratitude, and after a moment realized it was actually her own emotion this time. Her lips twitched, just barely, in sardonic amusement.

,,

"That seems an intelligent suggestion. Of course it means Dr. Bannon will need to be the first one examined, before the rest of us. But the less of my day this occupies, the better. I have other things to be doing. Inoae, we'll reschedule your session for tomorrow morning, I have some time after my training with Yseult."

,,

With that, she walked over and sat down, waiting for this sideshow to get moving.

She couldn't take it anymore. Every word Fitzgerald spoke just solidified her as some self-serving witch who would be damned before any of her personal time was interrupted, even if meant the safety and well-being of the expedition crew were somehow brought to danger. Evana was a bitch, that was true, but she was military all the way and the first thing you picked up from the military life was that you don't leave a brother behind, and you never put yourself first.

,,

It was time Moira learned what it was like to work as a team.

,,

"You may have time." Evana chimed in. Her hands and forearms were solid ice at the moment, you could see through them! "Because so help me, Doctor, if you utter one more self-serving comment that places your time over the safety and well-being of those around us, I will see to it you're unconscious for your examination and probably for most the rest of the week." She hefted Moira up effortlessly and she was cold... and strong. Rime began crawl it's way over her body sending a chill down her spine. "We don't know what were capable of. Including you. That puts the people out there at risk of being hurt, even by you and personally don't appreciate it when people think their time and personal well being is more important that the safety of those around them.

,,

Now," The rime continued to spread and every word the Captain spoke her words left a mist in the air that faded. "After all this you can run to Weir and let her know I threatened you. I'll give her orders about as much consideration as you gave her orders to be here, and afterwards you tell me how safe you feel around me. Now, I don't want to hear one more nagging complaint or exasperated sigh about how interrupted your work is or because you feel your time is more precious than ours. We're all friends here, Doctor, let's keep it that way."

,,

She set Moira down, even going so far as to brush some of the frost off her outfit. She offered her a warm smile, you know... the bitchy kind that said she was only punctuating it with a smile because she knew what a colossal bitch she just was to her.

Moira froze at first. Perhaps that was the expected reaction to being picked up by a human block of ice, she didn't know. Moira had never been manhandled in her life, by anyone. Emotionally abused, perhaps, but never manhandled. Inoae hid behind Bates, watching the two females cautiously, as most of the others watched curiously. And then, suddenly, rage washed over Moira. How much of it was spurred by Evana's own anger, how much of it was the anger of some of the others - and how much of it was her own, she couldn't tell. She was feeling other things, too - mild amusement, for some reason, which only fueled her own anger that someone thought this situation was funny. Disdain, irritation, surprise. This wasn't like the cafeteria, this was worse, there were more people involved here, more observers, a wider variety of emotions. It was directed at her. She felt the world go a little fuzzy at the edges again, but this time the anger was the stronger, and she desperately grabbed hold of it. She was furious, she was clinging to consciousness by pure anger, she had been physically assaulted and she wanted Evana to cower. It was an instinctive response, prey turning into predator, lashing out in self-defense. Not only from Evana's physical assault, but from the emotional one she was being subjected to. Moira didn't mean to use her abilities, she wasn't even really aware that she could. She knew only that she wanted Evana to be afraid.

,,

And suddenly, she was.

,,

Pure, molten terror poured over Evana, as if she had stepped into a waterfall of it. Moira spit out her words like bullets, but the others could see Moira shake slightly, the tremble of a person on the edge of something unpleasant, and her eyes were wide and slightly unfocused.

,,

"It may not have occurred to you that I had every intention of being inspected by Dr. Goro, but didn't care to do it at the moment. It may not have dawned on you that I didn't plan on defying Dr. Weir's orders, but merely postponing them until I felt able to deal with the situation. It may not have flickered across that pathetic, feeble brain of yours that what I needed most was to get away from people and all their fucking feelings for a few god-damned minutes! But I don't give a damn what didn't occur to you, all I know is that if you ever lay hands on me like that again without physical provocation, you will regret it. Do you understand me?!"

,,

Moira is, obviously, using Empathic Manipulation actively for the first time, without realizing it. Lucky Evana!!!

When the captain picked up the red-head, Bates froze in surprise. Evana had a temper; he’d always known that. It was surprising to see it evidenced so strongly and in this way now. Normally, she wasn’t quite this blatant.

,,

The other reason that he was a bit slow was fighting a ridiculous urge to laugh and possibly cheer. Every single soldier who’d had to deal with civvies had daydreamed of doing something like this to the intolerable ones—and there were a lot intolerable ones on Atlantis. It seemed that Bates had been dealing with annoying squints for years now, when in reality it was only a couple of months.

,,

“Captain Evana! I don’t seem to recall that the way to lecture civilians on their duty involved picking them up like little kids.” Bates’s voice filled the silence after Moira finished talking, and effectively cut off whatever the blue-haired bombshell’s retort was going to be. It was a reminder that civilians were not held to the standard that a soldier was, and that it wasn’t all right to treat them like soldiers unless it was the difference between their living and dying. “Apologize to the doctor for manhandling her. Dr. Fitzgerald, don’t call my people dumb, or you and I will have a problem. You can apologize to the captain for that insult. Is that clear to both of you?”

Curtis had not, much like Dr. Fitzgerald or Dr. Bannon, wished to be brought down there for his testing, much especially on the grounds that his new abilities were all in his head, so to speak. Measuring and assessing them would be difficult, and objective data wouldn't convey a truly accurate assessment.

,,

On the other hand, he knew fighting would accomplish nothing, and only requested to the ruffled lieutenant that he be given a moment to grab a book from his quarters. He'd brought Romance of the Three Kingdoms as a personal effect, and if he had to wait, it would serve well to pass the time (in terms of quality and length).

,,

As they closed in on their destination, Curtis' enhanced senses picked up the mini-storm behind the door. Evana and Fitzgerald squaring off, Bates trying to intervene... Well, it was definitely a good idea to bring Romance of the Three Kingdoms.

,,

The door swung open and Staff Sergeant Shane walked in, book under his arm. Curtis gave a deadpan expression as if they had been discussing idle pleasantries and found a seat. Best to start from the very beginning at this rate of progress - given that Bates was trying to get the two to apologize to each other.

Bates didn't know what Moira had done to Evana. He couldn't have as it was all in her head. She didn't hear Bate's orders, nor did she hear Bates scold Moira in kind. Moira didn't know Evana's background, the things she'd done, the faces she erased from her dreams, the murder, the killing all in the name of freedom and peace for America. For a veteran of fear and war like her there was only a single response to the sudden threat Moira had become (illusory though it was): she had to remove it. Fear was meant to be conquered and Moira had just made her one more obstacle that Evana had to smash through.

,,

Both women were stressed, that's why things had escalated to this point. Evana didn't want to even have her abilities, Moira had a ton of work to do... and now here they were squabbling like catty bitches and, unfortunately, were now toying with abilities and powers that they had no business messing with until they understood them better.

,,

Ain't science grand?

,,

With the horror still fogging her perceptions the survival portion of her mind took over. Her own powers activated and her eyes seemed shimmer a blue that was brighter that just a moment before. Were she to back down now she'd be weak. She couldn't allow that, not here in front of Bannon and certainly not in front of Bates. The room grew colder and a slight vapor began to from from condensed water vapor. Everyone looked about, wondering what was about to happen and Bates had a feeling it wasn't good.

,,

The growl suddenly broke the mysterious silence. A wolves growl as it padded gently into the room from the only exit, blocking escape. Another walked out from behind research equipment piled in the corner and another from behind several crates stacked up. They were made of pure frost! Densely packed snow made their bodies while sheets of rime covered them to simulate fur and hackles. Their eyes shared the same ice blue glow as Evana's and their claws and teeth were crystal clear ice. Were they not currently ferocious... these wolves would have been something breathtakingly beautiful.

,,

The two wolves closed in as the one still blocked the door. The seriousness of the situation was now apparent in everyone's eyes. As the terror grasped Evana had summoned something to kill Moira. Needless to say, Moira was a slight bit nervous. She was running out of room to back away. "Hell of a bark you have there, Doctor. How's your bite?"

,,

The ice wolves growled and bared their fangs, slowly closing in on their prey...

The situation had gone from a mixture of irritating and amusing to potentially lethal. And whilst Bannon wasn't averse to watching the two women tearing strips out of each other (and, in fact, if he hadn't been wanting to get his duties done and get back to the lab, he'd have been mentally settling in with popcorn) the fact that said tearing had just moved from verbal to very physical was, even to his sense of schadenfreude, going too far. Bates looked like he was about to explode, Moira looked like she was about to pass out, Inoae was trembling in Bates' shadow, and everyone else was wearing expressions of varying alarm, surprise or concern. Someone had to defuse this little situation before Evana did something that Bannon was reasonably sure she'd regret.

,,

Oh, well. They were here to test their changes. He concentrated on Evana, feeling the nerve pathways of her body, the chemistry of her brain. He knew what he wanted to do, and it was almost like reaching out and pushing the pieces of a puzzle into alignment. Only it didn't work. Whether through tension, or simple lack of focus, he couldn't quite reach the triggers he was searching for in her limbic system. The wolves snarled now, their jaws only feet away from Doctor Fitzgerald. Bates was moving forwards, his face like a thundercloud, and it looked as though the situation was about to turn into a potentially deadly brawl. Bannon took a deep breath, held it a second, then blew it out as he reached once more into that part of him that sensed the infinite puzzle of Life around himself and cast that sense around Evana. This time he felt that power touch her, moving through her brain. His own understanding of biochemistry was second to none, and it took him a mere millisecond to find what he sought and, with a faint smile, push on it.

,,

Evana felt it first like a tickle throughout her whole body, and had just enough time to register this before her nerves exploded into pleasure that was as far beyond orgasmic as white phosphorus is beyond a campfire. Dopamine, endorphins, oxytocin all surged from her glands and raced through her pleasure centers. These weren't foreign chemicals that had been introduced and her altered body might have fought off: these hormones were the production of her own biochemistry, proportionately stronger than those of an unaltered human being, and their effect was... intense.

The flattened ears of the three wolves suddenly stuck straight up and they fell to on their sides whimpering and yowling as their hind legs began to kick furiously like someone was rubbing their bell vigorously. Bannon quickly surmised that Evana's emotional and physical state might very well be linked to her newly summoned companions. Interesting.

,,

Evana herself fell to her knees in a vocal performance that would have made the adult film industry gush... pardon the expression. After several moments and few vulgarities that summoned up a blush from a person or two the Captain found herself recovering in a fit of heavy breathing. Wit their ability to move restored her three summoned wolves padded teir way to her and nuzzled her gently in a concerned manner, seeing if she was alright. "I'm not..." She paused to take another breath. Bannon really took it out of her. "I'm not sure who that was... but thank you... and you're now my new best friend..."

,,

Her head was defined clear now... aside from wanting another go at whatever that was a moment hence, but she managed to stand with a bit of a wobble in her knees. "Can't recall, Doctor, when the last time I wanted to kill something so badly. All that fear. Not pleasant, for either of us. Wouldn't you say?" Her smirk told Moira that she was willing to forget the incident, but the way her wolves growled told Moira that she was officially on her Shit List.

,,

She moved on from Moira and a smile crossed her lips in a hurry. She knelt down and looked at her three frosty friends, petting their 'coats' and scratching under their chins. "And who might you be? Hmm? Where'd you come from, hmm?"

"So..." Doctor Goro said into the stunned silence as the rest of the room watched Evana, in a state that could only be called 'one cosmic mother of an afterglow', pet her new friends. "It appears you can exert some control over biology, Doctor Bannon." Numerous pairs of eyes swiveled towards the slender man who was currently perched on the end of Goro's desk, arms folded and with a faint smile on his full lips, a smile that quickly smoothed into a bland poker face as he realised that everyone was looking at him. For a moment Bannon considered playing dumb, but that would be somewhat childish given the circumstances. He sighed in mild irritation, but the doctor took some consolation that at least no-one had been killed, beaten up or slammed into the brig.

,,

"And it would appear that the captain is a screamer." he retorted curtly. "It worked, didn't it?" he added, a trifle defensively and with a faint pink hue entering his pale complexion.

,,

"Bannon?" Evana glanced up from cuddling one of the ice wolves. She felt very much like cuddling something right now, for some reason, a feeling that seemed to transmit to her wolves, who were being frolicking and being puppyish around her. Her exquisitely shaped mouth dropped open in a moment of surprise before turning into a faint, naughty grin. "Oh. My. God. What was that, Banny?"

,,

"I find it impossible to comprehend you don't know what an orgasm is." Bannon said, his voice even curter than usual from embarrassment.

,,

"Mmmm." Evana's hum of approval caused the men, and some of the women, to become thoughtful. "But what I really want to know," she began as she got to her feet, still feeling deliciously loose-limbed, "Is why you used that method. Surely you could have, for instance, caused a seizure? Or simply made me black out? Or any number of other ways of-" and her manicured nails came up to make quote signs in the air "-'exerting control' over my biology." She regarded the doctor, a genuine question mingled with the humor in her ice blue eyes. She was making him uncomfortable, and it was great to see the mighty Doctor Bannon looked embarrassed, but more than that she really wanted to know. "C'mon, Banny. Enough with the Sphinx act and talk to me."

,,

"Because I wanted to calm the situation so we could all get on with the day, not prolong the interference." the biochemist said without even a microsecond's hesitation. Damn, but he was good. Only the faint blush was betraying him. "Because those other methods might have done you harm, and despite how irritating you can be I have no actual wish to harm you, or any member of this expedition. And because the hormones released during a full-body orgasm work on the limbic system, causing a sensation of well-being, relaxation and a heightening of one's innate awareness of the body, which will be helpful when it comes time to try and learn to actively use your abilities, rather than reactively." He quirked an eyebrow at her in query. "There. Happy now?" His next question was to the room at large, and a note plaintive. "Can we get on with this now?"

The book slammed shut when Curtis saw the situation devolve, until it hit the climax (pun not intended) of Evana going frightfully full wanton mode. Despite himself, a flush broke past Curtis' combination of concern for the situation and irritation. He sighed when it had past, noting the situation.

,,

The fact that Bannon had chosen to give Evana orgasms, though amusing, was beside the ultimate point that Bannon had just made. Which Curtis completely agreed with. "Seconded. I only wish to also add that-" his eyes flared with verbal undertones of someone pointing out the obvious to apparently oblivious individuals, "- you've proven Dr. Weir's point in triplicate. Now. Who is going first?"

Moira slid down the wall, looking relieved and significantly less agitated. Though the chemical reaction had been all on Evana, Moira had still gotten some of the after-effects of the emotional pleasure the other woman had experienced. That, combined with the mild amusement or slight embarrassment she was feeling from most of the others, was helping to outweigh the residual effects of all the fear and anger that had overwhelmed her. They were also much milder emotions. She drew in a deep breath, then let it out through her nose slowly, trying her best to regain control and lock down the unwelcome empathic abilities, now that she wasn't being overwhelmed by them. "I'll wait. The others can go first. Evana, if you have a moment?"

,,

Evana continued to idly pet the frost wolves, and waved a hand at Moira dismissively. "I don't know if that's a good idea right now, Doctor."

,,

Moira rolled her eyes, and let out an exasperated sigh, though her voice sounded less bitchy than usual. "Christ sake, Evana, I just wanted to apologize. I didn't even know I could do that. I've only.. felt emotions till now. I've never caused them like that. I don't even know how that's possible."

"And I'm petting frozen wolves, Doctor. I'm amazed anything should surprise you at this point." Evana crawled up on a free examining table. As she lay back, the afterglow was still readily present in her calm mood and more than laid back demeanor. It was probably the only thing keeping Evana from going to being a hard core bitch again. "Seriously Doctor, I don't care how emotionally repressed you are, or were. That's sounds like a whole load of problems that should be filed under 'yours'.

,,

"First and foremost Doctor, we apologize for the things we're sorry for." Evana gave her a sliver of a smirk. "Let's face it sweetie, you're not sorry. You did exactly what you wanted to do and you loved every moment of it. To feel that power over someone's heart. Love, joy, hate pain, pity... fear. There is pleasure to be had in control," She slid off the table and stepped to Moira, she leaned in whispering in her ear.
