  1. "Well have at it Arturs" Rhosh calls over his shoulder. "The longer we're here, the more likely we are to cross paths with whatever else is here." While continuing to monitor the black outside Toral's living quarters, he turns occasionally toward the group until he locks eyes with Eon. Rhosh flashes a couple thieves signs to encourage him to look for a hidden door or lever of some kind. He then turns back toward the black and resumes his vigil.
  2. As the majority of the group bunches in, Rhosh focuses his effort on the corpse in the corner next to him. He lifts his sword and swiftly brings it down, digging into the putrid flesh.
  3. That's fine. I'm not moving to keep from boxing in Krusk. I just didn't want to provoke a reaction if they have any. I can leave that out until I actually plan to move away following an attack.
  4. Dex Save: 1D20+6 = [15]+6 = 21 Acrobatics: 1D20+6 = [8]+6 = 14 Rhosh jumps out and faces back towards the tomb entrance with his bow in hand to face whatever is shutting the door.
  5. Standing up, Rhosh nods in affirmation to Dread's suggestion. "A watch does sound wise. We'll probably have a more fruitful search in the morning with more light anyway. Who knows? Maybe we will have some luck this evening simply keeping watch." Rhosh reaches to finish his mug of ale, but thinks better of it as he'll be on watch with Dread. 'No sense stirring the pot', he thinks to himself. 'He's only gonna think I'm not doing my part.' To the rest of the party he asks aloud, "Who will be taking the next shift?"

That all sounds good to me. Rhosh is chaotic good based on his overall goal to buy his clan's freedom at any expense (including stealing/smuggling from non-clan members), so his version of good will always lean that direction. As a former scout in his clan, he can appreciate Dread's sword skill, but will never understand the brooding demeanor. He's used to being more open with emotion, but guarded in thought. Though Eon is more in the spotlight than Rhosh cares for, he does enjoy sharing the occasional scheme with the bard. Eon's abilities are hard for him to relate to, but useful and he likes having Eon as a person to rely on if a scheme should need it. Krusk is an honorable being in Rhosh's eyes being a servant of Bahamut. Rhosh personally has a love/hate relationship with the deity; love for being his clan's ancestor, hate for not protecting them when it was needed. His love for Bahamut seems bi-polar, but Krusk serves as an exemplary servant and helps remind Rhosh of Bahamut's importance. Beyond that Krusk may seem a little naive to Rhosh, but he assumes that's just a side effect from being in the temple too long. Shayuri is intriguing to Rhosh, but namely for the presence of scales. She's not dragonborn so there's no interest there, but between the use of draconic magic and visible scales he is more confused than anything. He'll always be a little skeptical about Shayuri and repeatedly try to remember if any of his clansmen had relations outside the clan thinking her to be a distant relative. Just for sake of conscious, Rhosh has no intent to harm and/or steal from anyone in the group because it would bring too much attention to him. He needs allies, not enemies, if he will ever be able to free his clan. He has no problem stealing from the complete stranger, but he'll never spoil relationships (business or otherwise) by double-dipping, so to speak.
  7. Remembering his conversation earlier, Rhosh invites a response from Arturs as he may have some more personal knowledge of Toral and any relation to the current situation. "Arturs, you've witnessed the signs around the village. Does any of this match up with anything that Toral may have taught or shared with you?" Including Alrid, he continues, "I get the feeling that there may be some connection between Toral and his interest in Ardis. The timing on all of this seems suspect."
  8. "You know, it's been a while since I've heard about anything like this showing up, but we haven't really ruled out vampires or were-creatures. Since everything seems to be happening only at night, I'd bet that there is a nocturnal being that needs to be addressed." Rhosh takes a swig from his mug after the suggestion and shakes his head as he looks into the ale. Broadening the list of possible culprits doesn't give him any comfort, but he'd rather have at least some idea of what could be in store. Being caught off-guard would only make things more difficult. The dragonborn contemplates the information he's heard so far and takes in the scenery while doing so. The low light from candles and braziers around the room light softly on his sandy colored scales. His golden eyes glint keenly as he looks around the room, partly to see how the villagers interact with his party members and partly to see if there may be any unattended coin about. Rhosh runs a hand over his head and scratches at the looser scales behind him. The dark clothes he dawns shift with the movement and almost seem to want to devour the dragonborn in their sea of black. He returns his hand to his mug and calls to Alrid, "Can you tell us anything from some of your last conversations with Toral? Did he say if he was working on anything in particular or seem to have a peculiar interest in anything? It seems a little odd that he seemed to have taken an intense focus in his studies, then suddenly he and anyone else that go in the shelter disappear. And now there seem to be scratches on the village dwellings. It may be nothing, but I'd like to know about anything leading up to all this."

Though my clan has always been militarily strong, we neglected to invest in the resources of the new world which ultimately led to our downfall. We had always been safe by paying tribute to Bahamut. As the world started anew, my clan sharpened their swords and prepared their defenses. But metal costs coin, and training armies doesn't grow crops. Soon we began to lack the funds to pay for Bahamut's protection and that loose thread slowly unraveled any hope of safety my clan had. I was sent on a scouting party to collect intelligence on the nearby Genasi only to return to a desolate village. Based on the carnage and bodies littering the ground, I can assume that the Duergar raided my village to enslave my people while the guard was short a few scouting parties. Since then I've been honing my scouting skills to become even more stealthy and deadly. I only have two options to rescue my people after all...buy their freedom or infiltrate the Duergar and rescue my clan. Traits: I pocket anything I see that might have some value. Ideals: Freedom: Chains are meant to be broken, as are those that would forge them. (Chaotic) Bonds: My ill-gotten gains go towards freeing my family. Flaws: Rhosh is terrified of anything mechanical or clockwork in nature. When I see something valuable, I can't think about anything else but how to steal it. Equipment: Leather Armor, Burglar's Pack, Shortbow, Quiver (20 arrows), Black clothes with hood, Thieves' Tools, Dagger (x2) Wealth: 91gp
  10. Hey all. I'm playing the dragonborn rogue (Rhosh Lixis) and went down the thievery path. I originally built him as an assassin with the charlatan background, but I couldn't see how a dragonborn was going to make good use of a disguise kit, so...one thing led to another and now he's a thief with the criminal background. So far all we really know about him is he can't handle too much alcohol, he has been known to look for his missing tail while inebriated, and he doesn't like to pay for his own drinks. As for the story, Noir has a great tale with a touch of murder mystery feel to it. We have been able to recruit an NPC roughly level 0.75 to be our guide so I am personally really pumped to see what happens next!
