Alternate Character Login Registration

We have modified the way that we handle user account registrations for new/alternate characters. Instead of using the standing sign up method, you will now need to use the "Register Alt Character" link in the extras menu. This simplifies the sign up process greatly. In fact, all you need to enter is a unique login and display name to get your new character created. There is no painful captcha to try to decipher and there is no email validation. It is just the 2 simple fields.

To register a new character you will need to be using an account that has over 50 posts. The new account will use the same email address and password as the account that you are using to create it.

Alternate logins are limited to 3 every 3 months.

I realize the last post was made in jest, but I want to point out my reasoning for the 3 every 3. I needed to put a cap on in it just to make sure that someone couldn't spam the system. If at some point multiple games popped up I also wanted to allow someone to join multiple games. This averages out to a new character every month. Under normal circumstances I can't see anyone creating characters that frequently. So this gives you the ability to increase your games rapidly for a short period, if necessary, while putting a cap so that someone can't spam things.

I've been here about three months and have around 8 characters. In part that is because I joined multiple new games that fell apart for various reasons, so I don't have that many active. If we need to exceed that amount, can we just send you a pm, Chosen? I have no intention of flooding the site, but the rate games have been popping up and dying, with only a few surviving, makes that limit potentially problematic.

Then you have problems like Adrian, who was gone for ages and is trying to get back into a bunch of games. On the other hand, I suppose we could just use one account for multiple characters until the limit cleared.
